SuzyQ is named after the Creedence Clearwater Revival song from the seventies, one of my favourite songs of this band. Since she would by ladydriven, it made sense to give the car a girly name and it didn’t take long before this name was chosen.
Somewhere in the eighties SuzyQ started her career as a racecar in the United States, where she eventually got sold to Denmark and then Sweden.
At this time SuzyQ was completely orange with a huge scoop, powered by a naturally aspirated engine and 727 Torqueflite transmission. After transporting her to her new Dutch home, this engine got replaced with the current supercharged Indy one. The transmission got replaced by a new and much stronger 727 Torqueflite from A&A Transmissions.
Even though orange is the national colour of the Netherlands, I really disliked it. David from Priceless Paint worked his magic and created this proper seventies look with lace paint, candy purple and lots of glitter. When the car left David’s paint booth, SuzyQ was born!

During the first years of racing she ran on petrol with two Demon carburettors, before shifting to alcohol and mechanical fuel injection in 2016. In 2019 some upgrades were made with a B&J transmission, Bruno converter drive and custom made Neal Chance converter.
The winter of 2022 will mark another step forward for this classic racecar: SuzyQ will get her magical Hemi, and some serious upgrades regarding the chassis, rear axle, fourlink and suspension.
