SM 2609

Sometimes lovingly referred to as SuzyQ’s baby sister, but this sweet streetlegal racecar definitely has enough sassy attitude of her own. This is the car that got my actual racing started. Up to today it’s always a blast to race with it and she’s still taken out to several events.

Fun fact: This car is the only Barracuda from the Kingston Eight. The Kingston Eight were seven Cudas and one Barracuda, originally made in the USA as a special order for a car dealership in Tenerife (Canary Islands) in 1973.

These eight cars were built on the same day and shipped together with special export options, the most remarkable one the speedo in kilometer/hour.

For some reason the dealership got into financial trouble and all eight cars remained on Tenerife unsold until 1978, when the Kingston Car Company in London bought them all and shipped them to England. At the time these proved hard to sell and the last one eventually sold in 1982, which happens to be my birth year. A far as we know six are still in existence.
